Notes • Vintage: 2005 •   Country: Italy •   Variety: Primitivo Merlot •   Alcohol: 14% •   Region: IGT Tarantino         Winemaking Made from 60% Primitivo and 40% Merlot grown in the rolling hills of Puglia (the heel of the boot of Italy). The Primitivo, an indigenous Italian grape, is from 50 year old bush vines while the Merlot is from more recent plantings 5 or so years ago. After fermentation the wine was aged in a combination of French and American oak for 6 months. Description Intense ruby red colour, flavour of ripe red fruit with spicy notes of pepper and vanilla. Soft tannins in a big, structured wine.
